Phil Barry certainly pushed the boat out to try and get publicity for his Freeview channel problem with the Playboy TV Freeview channel was it was a new EPG so people had to tune in and that was really a kiss of death in those days as babe channels<\/a> didn’t automatically update like they do now so they lost a\u00a0 lot of money on it.<\/p>\n

We have written about the launch of Playboy tv on freeview 194 in 2012<\/a> and how Red Light Central<\/a> and Playboy did a lot of publicity for the channel to try and overcome the problem of the new EPG which meant that viewers had to re-tune their Freeview boxes in order to be able to view it. This was a distinct disadvantage to the babestation babeshows<\/a> and might explain why the channel only lasted for one year.<\/div>\n

Elderly residents in North Devon have been branded the ‘naughtiest in the country’ – after a survey found they were the group most likely to call an adult TV station.\u00a0 <\/em>A survey revealed that more senior citizens in the coastal region have called Playboy TV Chat for x-rated calls<\/a> than any other area in the country.\u00a0 <\/em>Philip Barry, the managing director of Playboy TV Chat, said that while a lot of the saucy calls to the TV station were from younger men returning from nights out, more experienced viewers were also picking up the phone, especially in North Devon.<\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking to the Daily Mail<\/a>,\u00a0Philip Barry, the managing director of Playboy TV Chat said:<\/p>\n

‘We actively target our advertising at North Devon.’\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

‘We harvest the data from all the calls we receive at the station and most of them are coming from North Devon.’<\/em><\/p>\n

‘You\u2019re a naughty bunch down there,’<\/em> he said at the time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We do wonder how much scientific analysis Mr Barry did to verify the origin of his phone sex<\/a> callers particularly as a lot would have been from mobile phones.\u00a0 Later Mr Barry went on to claim that they targeted North Devon in their job advertisements and The Daily Mail claimed he was flooded with job applications<\/a>.<\/p>\n
