\u201cIt has literally changed my life. I can\u2019t deny that. Mentally I was in such a bad place and now I feel like a whole new person again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before working in palliative care, Megan Rox worked in several nightclubs where she would collect glasses or help out behind the bar – but she said becoming a healthcare worker was her way of \u201cgiving back\u201d to society. When the Daily Star asked Megan what her job was like<\/a> at the height of the pandemic, this is what she had to say:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how I got through it. It was very hard and I would get home, have a shower, curl into bed and I had to go to sleep straight away just to block it all out. It was an awful time. After a while I couldn\u2019t take it any more. It was awful because visitors couldn\u2019t come in and see their families and it was a palliative care unit so it was a very tough time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Megan continued:<\/p>\n

“It has literally changed my life. I can\u2019t deny that. It was very, very intense and I worked there for five years. You see all sorts there and it is a bit of an eye opener to be honest and I was quite young when I started there. It really matured me in a way. I do miss a few of the residents I looked after. I was there almost every day and it was like a family so not going in there now is sad.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When Babestation sent Megan Rox a DM, it couldn\u2019t have come at a better time. Megan was ready for a new job and a new challenge, she figured \u201cwhy not?\u201d. As for her family\u2019s reaction, here\u2019s what Megan had to say:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were obviously a bit shocked because they thought I would stick to healthcare. My friends were a bit more like \u2018go for it\u2019 because they could see how drained I was during the pandemic and I needed a fresh start.\u201d<\/p>\n
