It survives thanks to a handful of fan blogs written during the early 2010s by dedicated night owls who were apparently more committed to documenting Freeview history than sleeping. Preserved today through the Internet Archive, the blogs provide a fascinating snapshot of the babeshow era, including the early days of\u00a0Babestation Xtra<\/i> – one of the channel\u2019s more unusual and strangely iconic late-night formats.<\/p>\n

These sites documented broadcasts,\u00a0nude model<\/span><\/a>\u00a0appearances and memorable studio moments that would otherwise have vanished into obscurity once the shows aired. Long before clips were endlessly reposted on social media, these late-night shows existed purely in the moment – if you missed them, that was usually it.<\/p>\n

The Arrival of Babestation Xtra<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

By the late 2000s, Babestation had already established itself as one of the biggest names in the UK babeshow world. But as the channels evolved, new formats began appearing alongside the main broadcasts. One of the most notable was\u00a0Babestation Xtra<\/i>, a show that aired on Freeview during the early hours and offered a slightly different take on the familiar formula.<\/p>\n

Instead of simply repeating the standard studio setup,\u00a0Xtra<\/i>\u00a0featured alternative camera angles, different layouts and a rotating lineup of presenters. For viewers who followed the babeshows regularly, it became an intriguing extension of the main channel – a sort of after-hours version where things felt slightly less polished and a bit more unpredictable. Channel 96 and the Small-Hours Chaos<\/b><\/p>\n

During this period,\u00a0Babestation Xtra<\/i>\u00a0was commonly broadcast on Channel 96, appearing in the wee hours once other programming had ended and most sensible people had gone to bed. The format gave presenters a chance to interact with viewers in a looser setting than the main shows, with multiple hosts sometimes appearing together during introductions and transitions.<\/p>\n

A Different Atmosphere<\/b><\/p>\n

Compared with the main Babestation broadcasts,\u00a0Xtra<\/i>\u00a0often felt slightly more experimental. The tone was more relaxed, the presentation less formal and the studio setups could change from night to night.<\/p>\n

For regular viewers, it created the feeling that something slightly different might happen once the\u00a0Xtra<\/i>\u00a0show began. Sometimes it was chaotic, sometimes unintentionally hilarious, and occasionally it genuinely felt like late-night television drifting into another dimension after midnight.<\/p>\n
