A Babestation model whose 63-year-old husband is older than both her parents has hit back at critics of age-gap relationships. Olivia Eden, 31, is defending her 32-year age gap after the recent Disney+ comedy-drama Alice and Steve sparked fresh debate about romances between older men and younger women.
“My husband is actually older than my parents,” Olivia shared, noting that all three of his stepchildren are also older than her. “But honestly, I never notice the age gap. If other people put more effort into their own lives rather than commenting on mine, they would probably be just as happy as we are.”
The Appeal of Chivalry and Older Men
Olivia insists she has no interest in dating men her own age, having always preferred partners at least two decades her senior. For her, the attraction goes far beyond the physical, although she proudly states her husband looks like he’s been “carved by an angel.”
She values the old-fashioned manners she feels are missing from younger generations.
“Manners and chivalry: little things like always opening the car door for me, holding the umbrella and not letting me walk on the outside of the pavement along a main road,” she explained. “These days younger men take longer to get ready than me and I’m not here for that.”
A Whirlwind Gym Romance
The couple first crossed paths at the gym, where Olivia noticed him giving her cheeky smiles and waving. Recognising him from Facebook, she took a modern approach to getting his attention by liking all of his photos.
When he finally asked her out for dinner, she knew exactly what she wanted. Olivia didn’t mince words on their very first date.
“He was obviously divorced and had three children, all older than me,” she recalled. “I said, ‘I want to get married and have kids, so if you don’t want to do it again, don’t waste my time.'”
Her upfront approach paid off. Just three weeks later, he proposed.
Blended Families and Brushing Off the Haters
Despite the unconventional family dynamic, Olivia’s family barely reacted to the 32-year age difference, content simply knowing she’s happy.
Navigating life as a young stepmother could be awkward, especially since her husband’s children are all older than her. However, she formed an instant bond with his daughter, who is nine years her senior.
“We were instant best friends. We got on like a house on fire and still do,” Olivia said, noting that her stepdaughter was also a glamour model growing up. “I’m not trying to be anyone’s stepmum, but it is an occasional joke. I don’t mind having a laugh with them about the gap because I know it’s all in good nature. They can see I make their dad happy and that’s all that matters.”
As for strangers assuming she’s a golddigger, Olivia couldn’t care less.
“I’m 1,000% sure that people like to say I’m a golddigger behind my back,” she admitted. “People are just jealous and don’t understand that we can be happy with an age gap, but we are.”
Looking to the Future
Having been together for nine years and married for five, the couple shares a strong connection built on mutual appreciation. Olivia describes herself as an “old soul” who loves classic music and black-and-white films, meaning they rarely feel the generational divide.
They are still hopeful that their future will involve children, believing it will happen when the time is right.
With shows like Alice and Steve putting these relationships back in the spotlight, Olivia has a clear message for the public.
“Any age gap will work so long as your man feels appreciated and feels like a king in his own home,” she concluded. “People need to stop judging age-gap relationships.”
