You know when you’re mindlessly scrolling YouTube and suddenly find something you haven’t thought about in years? That was me this week. Completely by accident, I came across a YouTube channel dedicated to Party People, and before I knew it I’d disappeared down a proper nostalgia rabbit hole.
If you watched the babe channels back in the day, you’ll probably remember it. If you didn’t, it’s well worth a look because it captures a really interesting moment of time during the early days of the industry.
A Proper Blast from the Past
The YouTube channel youtube.com/@Babestationpartyp is packed with old clips from a time when Freeview was king, everyone still watched live TV, and social media wasn’t running our lives. There was no Instagram, no TikTok, no endless clips popping up on your phone every five minutes. If you wanted to see your favourite presenter, you actually had to tune in. If you wanted to chat, you had to pick up the phone and dial. Mad concept, I know.

Watching the footage back now is properly surreal. The graphics, the studio sets, the phone numbers crawling across the bottom of the screen… it instantly takes you back to the late 2000s. The picture quality isn’t exactly 4K either, but somehow that just adds to the charm.
Before Live Cams Took Over
Party People was one of the shows that helped shape the UK babeshow scene. Back then everything revolved around live television. Viewers got to know the presenters simply by watching every night, calling in and becoming regulars. There weren’t profile pages explaining who everyone was or social media accounts showing what people had for breakfast. You got to know personalities because you watched them. Looking back, that’s probably why so many people still remember the presenters all these years later.
It Was Never As Easy As It Looked
Watching these old clips also reminded me just how difficult live TV actually is. People assume you just turn up, smile at the camera and that’s about it. Trust me… it really isn’t. When you’re live, there’s nowhere to hide. No script. No editing. No second takes. If there’s a quiet moment, you have to fill it. If something unexpected happens, you deal with it there and then. You keep talking, keep smiling and keep the show moving.

Having spent years working on live TV myself, I know exactly how much goes into making it all look effortless. Watching Party People back, you can really appreciate how good some of those presenters were.
So Many Familiar Faces
One of the best things about the channel is spotting performers who went on to become some of Babestation’s biggest names. You’ll see faces like Rachel Cole, Lori Buckby, Camilla Jayne, Lynsey Atkinson, Jodie Cox, Dani O’Neal, Megan Moore and Geri. It’s funny how quickly you recognise people you haven’t seen in years.
Some became huge Babestation favourites, while others will always be linked to that particular era of British babeshows. Others are still appears on live cams today. Either way, it’s impossible not to smile when they pop up on screen.
I’d Completely Forgotten About This…
One thing I’d totally forgotten was how much Party People changed towards the end of its run. For most of its life it was fairly tame by babeshow standards, but in July 2009 everything shifted. The outfits became more revealing, the show became noticeably more adult, and on 29th July 2009 it officially featured topless content for the first time, with Rachel Cole becoming the first presenter to appear topless on the programme.
At the time it looked like Party People was heading in a completely new direction. As it turned out, it only had a handful of episodes left before disappearing altogether. Looking back now, it’s quite a strange little moment in babeshow history.
More Than Just Old Videos
It’s easy to dismiss channels like this as people uploading old clips, but I actually think they’re preserving a little piece of television history. TV changes so quickly. Programmes disappear, websites vanish, recordings get lost and before you know it, whole chapters of broadcasting history have almost been forgotten. Without someone taking the time to upload this footage, a lot of it probably would have disappeared forever.

Fancy a Trip Down Memory Lane?
If you watched Party People back in the day, I’d definitely recommend having a browse through the channel. You’ll probably find yourself recognising presenters you’d completely forgotten about, remembering old studio sets, or laughing at some of the hairstyles and graphics that seemed perfectly normal at the time.
And if you’re a newer Babestation fan, it’s a really interesting look at how the industry worked before live cams, OnlyFans and social media completely changed the game. It’s amazing how much has changed… and at the same time, how much hasn’t.
