The first Gay Pride parade took place in New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago on June 28th 1970, as a response to the Police brutality experienced by patrons of the Stonewell Inn, a gay bar in New York city which was raided by police and sparked a three day protest by those on the receiving end of a vicious crackdown on their way of life. Since then gay pride has gone from strength to strength with parades held every year and expanding across the world into thousands of major cities, including across the UK ever since London had it’s first Gay Pride parade in 1972.
Since President Bill Clinton first proclaimed it into official status in 1999, what was a yearly parade to celebrate gay culture has now evolved into a month long period of celebration, festivals, education and awareness which includes a host of other marginalised groups within the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.
As you may be able to tell from our VIP content and live BSX shows as well as thousands of pervcam shows over the years, Babestation not only supports LGBTQ performers but we celebrate who they are and what they do by giving them a platform to express themselves in whatever way they choose to. None more so than current Babestation Cams star, Sabrina Jade.

Above all, Sabrina is an activist and advocate, whose guiding principles are openness, kindness, and radical empathy. This Pride Month, she continues to shine as a reminder that authenticity is a powerful act of resistance—and love.
When we got a chance to ask Sabrina about her Pride Month experiences, this is what she had to say:
“Yes, I’ve been to many Pride events over the years, but I’ll never forget my very first Brighton Pride. I went with my gay friend from school, and it was the first time he felt confident enough to dress exactly how he wanted — head to toe in glitter! Seeing him exploring his identity so freely and joyfully was such a beautiful and emotional moment for me. It really opened my eyes to the power of Pride spaces.
Since then, I’ve had the honour of performing at Pride-themed events and festivals all across the UK — from Brighton to Manchester, Portsmouth, London, Boomtown, Mighty Hoopla and beyond. The energy at these events is unlike anything else. Compared to competitions and more formal performances, Pride crowds are indescribably amazing — wild, warm, supportive, and beautifully feral in the best way!
This year for Pride Month, I’m performing all over London and Brighton, including producing, hosting and performing in my own show with an all-LGBTQ+ lineup. I’m also running pole and dance workshops specifically for the queer community, taking part in a Pride march, and doing a very special lesbian live cams BSX show too.
Over the years, my activism has taught me that Pride is about so much more than a party — it’s a protest, a celebration, and a vital space for community. I try to give back however I can, because this community has given me so much love, support, and purpose.
