For 10 years Preeti & Priya Young, aka ‘The Tantric Twins’, have been a regular fixture on our screens. Whether appearing together or individually, on Babestation or on one of the other adult channels, they have carved out a unique and successful career. As well as babeshow TV appearances on Babestation and the like, they have been seen on mainstream TV documentaries like Hello Stranger and the Channel 5 series, My Mum Is Hotter Than Me. You may have also seen them show off their big tits and more in high-end adult magazines, e.g. Mayfair or on their own official website.
In an industry filled with flash-in-the-pan performers and also-rans who just couldn’t maintain a strong enough level of consistency, the Young twins’ hard work and dedication has seen them rise to the upper echelons of the UK babe channel popularity pyramid and put them squarely in the conversation for inclusion in most fans’ all time top 10 lists.
Preeti and Priya were just 23 when they first graced the screens of Babestation, having had no previous experience of television or phone sex chat and barely even any of modelling – Preeti having come from a career as a professional hairdresser and Priya having been a student. I asked the pair about those early experiences and what they remember thinking the very first time they took a call; Priya was the first to respond, “I just remember feeling excited and nervous”.
As it turned out, they took to the shows like a pair of ducks to water, as Priya goes on to explain:
“It was the funnest night! We were only meant to do a few hours but they asked us to stay the whole night. There was a really good group of people in that night and when we finished we went to an after party club at 6am!”.
Twin Preeti continues:
“I remember Geri, Lolly and Leah J were in that night. I can’t remember who else. Everyone was so nice to us”.
And did they pick up any tips from anybody?
“We had watched Babestation before our first night to pick up tips LOL”
In their tumblr account, user Babe_TV gives us a first hand account from a fans’ perspective of the twins’ first night on Babestation and the impact they had on the channel. The following extract was first posted on said account in September of 2013:
“By August 2010 Babestation was in the early stages of a new modus operandi. The first phase of intensive, ‘power presenting’ had been gathering pace since spring and the biggest shows were moving towards a more driven regime in which it would become obvious that the channels were no longer screening shows – they were screening adverts.
But there was a risk because for many fans the rising tide of power-selling, intrusive graphics and noise – the ‘televisual migraine’ if you like – was not what Babestation was about. There had to be something of substance to keep fans watching and it needed to be good! In fact, what the channel needed was a good four or five ingredients to really keep things on track…more novelty, more classic glamour models, more chance for callers to get through and talk to those classic glamour models, more scope to develop the new(ish) encrypted channel which featured heavily in the overall game plan and something long overdue – more non-white models.
Fortunately, Babestation managed to provide all of those ingredients in a single move: hiring the ‘Tantric Twins’ Preeti and Priya. New faces on the babe channels, the twins were different, highly glamorous, exotic, compatible with the encrypted channel and praise the Lord – there were two of them! Put them on together and not only was it a real attention grabber; it also meant callers had twice the chance of getting through.
Both girls made their debut on the night of the 11th of August 2010 and they established themselves extremely quickly, going from complete newbies to top, headline acts in just a few weeks. By 2011 they were undeniably at the forefront of Babestation’s glamourchase, epitomising everything fans of the channels were looking for.”
After the initial challenges of working an intense night show were over with…
“Staying up ’til 5:30am [was our biggest challenge] and the bright lights. Got used to it quickly enough though.”
Over the years, the girls have also been involved in various publicity events for Babestation, as Priya elaborates when asked about her favourite memories:
“Oh wow, there are so many! The nights that all my friends are in we always have a good time. A group of us got sent to Ireland once, that was actually a really fun trip.”
Preet & Priya ‘s stars have continued to shine for many years, working alongside guys and girls who would become more than just work colleagues, but friends.
As for the ups and downs of a 10 year (and counting) career:
“Luckily there haven’t been any downs, touch wood. We’ve had a great 10 years!”
And as for the future?
“We’re not done any time soon! LOL. We love our jobs. In the future we’ll be getting naughty, travelling and buying properties.”
