Much of what we know about the early years of British babeshows doesn’t come from official archives or television records. It survives thanks to a handful of fan blogs written during the early 2010s by dedicated night owls who were apparently more committed to documenting Freeview history than sleeping. Preserved today through the Internet Archive, the blogs provide a fascinating snapshot of the babeshow era, including the early days of Babestation Xtra – one of the channel’s more unusual and strangely iconic late-night formats.
These sites documented broadcasts, nude model appearances and memorable studio moments that would otherwise have vanished into obscurity once the shows aired. Long before clips were endlessly reposted on social media, these late-night shows existed purely in the moment – if you missed them, that was usually it.

The Arrival of Babestation Xtra
By the late 2000s, Babestation had already established itself as one of the biggest names in the UK babeshow world. But as the channels evolved, new formats began appearing alongside the main broadcasts. One of the most notable was Babestation Xtra, a show that aired on Freeview during the early hours and offered a slightly different take on the familiar formula.
Instead of simply repeating the standard studio setup, Xtra featured alternative camera angles, different layouts and a rotating lineup of presenters. For viewers who followed the babeshows regularly, it became an intriguing extension of the main channel – a sort of after-hours version where things felt slightly less polished and a bit more unpredictable. Sometimes intentionally. Sometimes not.
Channel 96 and the Small-Hours Chaos
During this period, Babestation Xtra was commonly broadcast on Channel 96, appearing in the wee hours once other programming had ended and most sensible people had gone to bed. The format gave presenters a chance to interact with viewers in a looser setting than the main shows, with multiple hosts sometimes appearing together during introductions and transitions.
Archived posts from the era often describe Xtra beginning just after 1am, with presenters greeting viewers before the night’s phone sex calls began. It was during one of these introductions, in December 2009, that Georgie Darby briefly appeared on the channel for the first time, marking the beginning of her Babestation night-show career.

Looking back now, there’s something oddly nostalgic about the whole thing – blurry Freeview graphics, late-night studio chatter about upcoming shows, including the evenings BSX lineup and viewers acting like Channel 96 was a matter of national importance.
A Different Atmosphere
Compared with the main Babestation broadcasts, Xtra often felt slightly more experimental. The tone was more relaxed, the presentation less formal and the studio setups could change from night to night.
For regular viewers, it created the feeling that something slightly different might happen once the Xtra show began. Sometimes it was chaotic, sometimes unintentionally hilarious, and occasionally it genuinely felt like late-night television drifting into another dimension after midnight.
In an era before streaming, clips and OnlyFans, these broadcasts only really existed for those watching live. Which is exactly why the archived blog posts documenting them feel so valuable now.
A Small but Memorable Part of the Era
Babestation Xtra might not have been the flagship show of the babeshow schedule, but it became a memorable part of the late-night landscape for many viewers. It introduced new presenters, created wild studio moments and offered a slightly different window into the world of Babestation during the Freeview years.
And thanks to the forgotten babeshow blogs that captured those broadcasts — often with surprising levels of detail – the story of shows like Xtra hasn’t completely disappeared into late-night television history. Probably for the best really. Somewhere out there, there’s almost certainly a man who still remembers an October 2009 Xtra episode more clearly than his own wedding anniversary.
If you’re feeling nostalgic for the late-night chaos, you can still explore live cam models.
